2025-2026 AAHHE Faculty Fellowship Program (FFP)

The AAHHE Faculty Fellowship Program’s (FFP) primary goal is to prepare Latina/o/x faculty for successful careers in academia and beyond by increasing the number of tenured and promoted Latina/o/x faculty. The program is geared towards new faculty who are beyond their first year on the tenure-track. Towards this end, program sub-goals include to:

  1. Provide strategies to assist tenure-track faculty in achieving their scholarly and career goals.
  2. Build community and network with other Latina/o/x faculty.
  3. Develop future leaders who are dedicated to uplifting their communities.

Eligibility

To be considered, applicants must:

a) identify as a Latina/o/x enrolled in a tenure-track position beyond year 1 by the start of FFP.

b) exhibit a track record of service and fem/mentoring to the Latina/o/x community. Upon acceptance into the program, Faculty Fellows are required to become AAHHE active members.

Schedule

AAHHE Faculty Fellows are required to attend and actively participate in all FFP events. The FFP program will begin in September 2025 with a virtual welcome/orientation followed by monthly webinars held from October 2025 through March 2026 with a culminating experience at the AAHHE National Conference. A comprehensive list of FFP webinar dates and times will be included in the selection letter. Additionally, Faculty Fellows will be required to attend select events during the AAHHE National Conference taking place in March 2026. The Faculty Fellows will receive $150 off conference registration.

Field Geotechnician (Junior- Internship)

About the Position: We are currently seeking a motivated Junior Field Geotechnician to join our team in Santa Fe, NM. This position involves significant travel across the United States, often with little notice, and is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors and managing operations and construction installations. This will be a summer internship position with the possibility of becoming full-time depending on work-load and candidate
availability.

Key Responsibilities:
• Travel with Field Supervisor from Santa Fe to various job sites across the U.S. to collect samples of soil, aggregates, and other earth materials from roadways.
• Analyze roadways and surrounding areas for soil variations and damage.
• Deliver collected soil samples to the Santa Fe Geotechnical Lab for testing.
• Assist with laboratory testing of soils when not in the field.

• Perform work safely with high integrity
• Assist Field Supervisor in ensuring the proper installation of LithtecTM products according to Geotechnical Installation Specifications.
• Strict adherence to safety protocols and quality standards in all field operations.
Qualifications:
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Enjoys working with people and able to convey geotechnical results to on-site client representatives, project managers, and construction managers.
• A willingness to travel extensively.
• Good driving record and insurability.
• Physically capable of lifting a minimum of 100 lbs and operating heavy construction equipment.
• Able to transition between long periods of walking, bending, lifting, and sitting, often in extreme weather conditions.
• Willing to complete and pass required certification testing.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical, background check, and drug test prior to starting.

SUMMER CONFERENCE ASSISTANT
JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Responsibilities

  • Must attend all staff meetings and training.
  • Present a good image of the University through leadership, appearance, pleasant demeanor, helpful disposition, positive and responsive attitude and actions.
  • Work as a part of a team to perform the following tasks associated with Summer Conferences:
    • Conference participant check-in and check-out; i.e. room key distribution and collection.
    • Inspect rooms prior to and after conferences, including distribution and collection of linen and amenities.
    • Launder soft goods between conference groups.
    • Report maintenance needs to include the submission of work requests.
    • Provide conference contacts with room information for assignments and other information they need.
    • Respond to all summer conference building emergencies.
    • Distribute pertinent information to conference contacts; i.e. bulletins, messages, etc.
    • Keep all inventory up to date.
  • Be a convenient and reliable resource and reference person for conference contacts and participants.
  • Must perform the following tasks associated with 24 hour rollover:
    • Inspect rooms after they are vacated by Summer Conference groups.
    • Re-inspect rooms after work is completed to verify a room is ready for occupancy.
    • Participate in the execution of the lock-out process as well as nightly building rounding.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Summer Conference Coordinator, Residential Life Coordinator, Auxiliary Services professional staff, or Housing and Residential Life professional staff.

Job Qualifications

  • Must be knowledgeable and able to articulate and implement University policies, rules, and regulations; must also have a working knowledge of campus and community resources.
  • Must be an NMT student in good academic standing (minimum 2.5 GPA) or recently graduated student.
  • Must have a clear judicial record at the time of hiring and must maintain this status throughout the term of employment.
  • Must have demonstrated the willingness to accept supervision, the ability to follow directions, the capability to work under pressure and work as a team.
  • Must demonstrate excellent public relations and customer service skills.
  • Must be committed to successful teamwork with the entire summer conference staff.
  • Preferred : Valid driver's license with a NMT Defensive Driving Certificate or willing to obtain one within a few weeks of hiring.

Terms of Employment

  • Applicants are required to work up to 40 hours per week, including some early mornings, some evenings, some weekends, and on call/duty rotation schedule.
  • The position of Conference Assistant takes first priority over other time commitments.
  • Must reside on campus in an assigned residential area.
  • Must complete mandatory employment training from May 18-22, 2025.
  • Involvement in any other employment is not permitted.
  • Conference Assistants will be paid $15.00 per hour worked, with CAs scheduled for up to 40 hours per week depending on class requirements. Stipends will be dispersed biweekly. Conference Assistants will receive housing and meals allowance.
  • Conference Assistants report directly to and are supervised by the Summer Conference Coordinator with additional support from the Residential Life Coordinator as well as the Summer Conference Intern.
  • Employment is for the summer during the period of agreement; however, continued employment is subject to satisfactory performance. Auxiliary Services Professional Staff will perform evaluations on an individual as needed basis. Auxiliary Services retains the right to terminate a Conference Assistant at any point of their contract or choose not to renew their contract at the end of a semester.

Climate Research at Valles Caldera National Preserve

The National Park Service is currently seeking a Climate Research Volunteer to develop and share information on how climate affects the Valles Caldera and the Jemez Mountains. This role combines both in-person and remote work, supporting ranger and volunteer education efforts. This opportunity provides hands-on experience in climate research while contributing to the preservation and understanding of a unique natural landscape.
